This is EdUmatics Module 4, How to teach mathematics with technology: developing and reflecting on classroom practice.

The aims of the module are for you to attain:

• an increasing awareness of different teaching approaches when teaching with technology
• an increasing understanding of the relationships between technological tool use and mathematical understanding
• a co-designed, extended and concrete repertoire of teaching techniques when using technology in mathematics education
• a developing set of analytic and reflective skills to support you make appropriate choices when planning a technology-rich lesson
• an improved awareness of the impact of task design to inform future technology enhanced mathematics lessons
• an increasing awareness of the complexity of integrating technology into mathematics teaching

How to work through this module?

The core of this online module consists of activities and resources. The activities include video analysis activities, reading activities and other activities. The resources section contains the resources corresponding to these types of activities. The best way to start is to go to Activities. These allow for different routes through the modules. There is one suggested route, but you (or your course leader if applicable) may decide for other routes being more appropriate in your situation, or fitting better to your interests and preliminary experience.
